Son bugged me to lets hit Lay Lake after the morning storms passed. Weather forecast looked good for the afternoon. Cloudy. Mild wind. Right. Turned out to be sun/clouds alternating, 25-30 mph gale force winds, waves 2-3 in most parts of the river. Tried fishing on the main channel, got tired of waves breaking over the bow. Trolling motor was yanked out of the water so many times then slammed back in, broke the H-bird TM transducer bracket (which thankfully Academy had handy - bass pro is a 20 mile drive). About the roughest I recall seeing Lay except in the middle of a major thunderstorm on the few occasions we have been caught out there.
