Getting ready to order/install deck lights on St. BAV(Stones Bass Assault Vehicle). Im leaning toward Ozium over Blue water LEDs. Ive been told to stay away from green as they draw bugs. Im considering red or UV. Ive never seen UV used as deck lights. Anyone have UV color for your deck lights? Thoughts? Any suggestions will be taken into consideration. Thanks guys.
If for task lighting stay with the white best lumens available. If for show I dont know….I know we install RGB LED strip lighting and you can choose what you want. Make dance, fade, race…and with a remote….Thatd be pimpin that ride….
Its for function, not show. If i had “dancing” lights, id be more disoriented than a big man at a buffet. Im seeking info on light colors from personal experience
I know a few guys with green lights and theyve said that the green draws bugs. It could be those guys drawing the bugs lol. Plus, green doesnt match my rig in any way except when im using the hotfoot
Red lights let your eye sight recover quicker in the dark. (red lights in the cockpit of an airplane) white light lets you see the true colors of the lures or bait your tying on. I happen to use both. GET A DIMMER SWITCH for what ever you choose. LEDs can be pretty bright. Also take a look at a company called LED HEAD out of Mt Home, AR. A friend of mine installed theirs and said he was very satisfied with them and allot cheaper than Blue Water with the same warranty. Pro-Tec Productswww.protecproducts.com
90% of the time its for looks as there is not to many people that will mount something to there boat that looks like sh—it or there vehicle so here is a pic of a friends bug boat with the ozium
