We like the largest AGM series in a 31 case that is available for cranking. You can do fine with less on the troller, though do not scrimp on the cranking battery. We have said this now for years, and we even at one time suggested 27 series batteries for more depth on the daily use, now we have moved up a tick to even more capacity suggested. You will notice many others following our lead on suggesting larger cranking batteries. It is no where to cut costs and one of the most critical items on a bass boat we feel. BCB

Thanks for asking, the Diehard AGM 31 for my cranking battery was something I was looking at also. Im having some Graph issues when the big motor starts, so I was going to rewire them when I got the bigger battery.

As a follow up to your graph issue comments. If its a Humminbird and they are interlinked be sure to call Humminbird direct and theyll send you specific upgrade files for each unit that could fix relating issues per your post. I had what I thought were battery issues too. Fixed it with software upgrade for my HB units. Not saying this is the specific to your issue but something to think about just the same. Now that I have done the simple upgrade file install I no longer have electronic issues with my Humminbirds with interlink box.

Thanks , I just went to sears yesterday and up-graded all my batteries. I purchase two PM-1 (group 31) for trolling and one PM-2 (group 34) for the cranking. I was mainly looking at the recommended CCA rating when I made that decision. With your advice I’ll just bring the PM-2 back and exchange for the larger one. The PM-1 has plenty of CCA @ 1150 . I put a PM-1 in my boat shortly after I got it due to problems with sonar shutting down when cranking. Zero problems with any electronics 7 months later. I can run 2 sonars, pumps and other acc. all day long and have no problems when cranking engine. This is a very good battery reguardless of the weight and cost.

get the 31. My pro 250 loves that battery. Go to Bass boat central and read lots of post about this battery. It is a little heavy but will start with plenty of power every time. The key is that you need plenty of CCA later in the day after running livewells, graphs, etc and this battery will do it.

The Diehard Platinum are a little pricey but, 3 year non-prorated makes it worth it.

I put 3 of them in my boat for using a 36 volt trolling motor/cranking battery setup they are pricey and heavy but worth it.

I have two of the Sears 31s for my troller and if the AC Delco in my P4 ever decides to die, Ill put a 3rd Sears in it. I assume you can get by with less on a 200 Opti?
