Diesel Optimax?

I just read this on mercurys site. What would be the pros and cons? Also, does diesel have ethanol in it? http://www.mercuryracing.com/optimax-di ... -for-duty/- Chaz

Those used to be kerosene so they could run on jet fuel. They shared the jet fueling stations at sea.

Diesel doesnt have ethanol. I had seen something about these engines on line. Sounds interesting, they have glow plugs and spark plugs. They apparently run like the gassers as far as rpm they said they run 5600 rpm. That really surprised me, diesel engines normally create the most power at lower RPM. If someone wanted to give me one I would try it out?!

I wonder does is the spark plug there just to burn excess bad exhaust. You know FOR CLEAN AIR . EPA STUFF. As I know some off the bigger dozer engines have a spark plug just to burn excess dirty exhaust2013 PANTERA 2MERCURY 200 PRO XSMINNKOTA 80LB FORTREX25 fury

Id be interested in seeing if it had the normal diesel “tumbling” sound. Im sure it would be subdued some but either way it would be an odd sound from the back of the boat.- Chaz
