Does anyone still run the high five prop

I dont like em, but I know several that do run them. Main thing is to get the pitch right. They do great with low pitch for pulling skiers and the like. They are a bit on the old side compared to more modern blade characteristics…2008 Pantera Classic2014 Mercury Pro XS 200

I have a 23 High 5 Plus, and I will run it on a Puma or Cougar with a 250, for a play prop for kids, and also in the spring, when water is rough, and Im very shallow, and want to plane quickly. It is also a great prop if you have 3 people in the boat, and/or a shad tank on the rear deck. It is not a speed prop, but it will sure plane a load, and in the winter, or in 3 chop, I dont care much about top end anyway. Mike Whitten/Germantown, TN

I run a High 5 on my XR6 Sabre and get more bow lift and better hole shot than with my Tempest 3 blade. I am also turning 5800 to 5900 RPMs with full gas tanks,2 people in the boat, live wells and full tournament load and running 61.5 GPS. By the way the 2 people are 250 and 200 lbs. I tried several props before settling in on the High 5 but it has performed well for me and it really hugs the water in a tight turn. My mechanic has a boat just like mine and he runs the tempest. I am heavier than he is but I can take him on the water. He also is not a fan of the High 5 and is amazed at the performance I get out of my boat with it. Youve gotta get out and try running your boat with the normal “stuff” you carry and see which prop gives you the best performance. I am sure if I -played with my setup I could get more speed but for what I do I like the handling of the 5 blade when running WOT and the very quick hole shot. MikeJmtfrisco, Texas
