Does your boat cost more than your tow vehicle?

No, not even at DPP.

There is a pattern up until options got crazy of trucks (SUV) and boats being similar in costs extending back to the origin of Bass Cat. A new Suburban, Chevrolet Silverado 3/4 or GMC Yukon XL would be very similar in price to a bass boats rigged reasonably well.

It’s always been where new trucks and boats were on the same plane in pricing. We realize the options these last 5 or 10 years have blown up the proportionate scale.

Yeah, if I had to guess the majority of people’s boats cost more than their tow vehicle these days. Heck I have a buddy who’s outboard alone cost more than his tow vehicle, priorities lol. My wife won’t let me spend more on a boat than her vehicle and there’s a limit on how much depreciation I’m willing to loose, I tried to argue the boat holds value better:-/

Oh yeah, my 2021 p2 was about $58k before fees/taxes, my 97 Ford Expedition is worth about $3k.  So about 20 times more expensive then tow vehicle.

but, I love my old Expedition.  Good vehicle and it is paid for.  For the most part I can fix it myself and parts are cheap.   And I don’t have to be paranoid with it like a new car.  I am going to drive that thing until it quits.

Most definitely my boat cost more than my tow vehicle.  2017 Silverado, towing a 2015 Caracal.  Boat was quite a bit more.
