Drainage in front compartment

I have a cougar 2014 and the small drain hole in forward compartment on the front deck doesnt drain I tried and small wire to feel for blockage but I only feel what is like foam....Should I push a hole to the bottom of the boat or seal this hole?......This is the first time I have had any amount of water in this compartment..

My bigger concern would be where the water came from. My p2 has a hole in the compartment where you step up on the front deck. The water source was where the 3rd seat pedstal stand attached in the bottom of that compartment. I made a plug and put in the top where the pedstal would insert. I guess Im an idiot as usual but that aint no hole from BCB I dont think? And if u been tryin to run water into the foam I cant imagine thats ideal? Im sure I musta missed something here though-C.O.D. Jr. III

Newer boats do have a small drain in some compartments and they should be aligned with the 6″ in the center sump. We think what your feeling is squishy foam and perhaps a foam block added to the sump to prevent water from flowing forwards and gushing into the front of the boat. The sudden stop jettisons the water into the drain tube and it forces itself with a splash to the nose and goes both directions into the rod boxes. There is a square foam block through 2016 to prevent that jettisoning of water an it has a lot of force when stopping, especially on the trailer.

The water in the compartment came from the drift socks I was using …..as it was time to head back to the weight in… BCB would there be a tube connected to the hole or just a opening Also should I plug it ?

We would plug it if your concerned. It is also possible its not a BCB pre drilled box and not in the sump.

It would of been factory drilled as I am original owner….it is in line with the drainage channel

Then your hitting the actual foam in the ballast area to prevent sloshing forwards. We are not concerned about it.
