I have a 2021 Cougar FTD on order with a 250Pro XS. I was just reading about the drive by wire system that is available. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with it? What is Bass Cat's position on this?
We assume your speaking of the SeaStar Dometic system. We don’t know that anyone in house has tested it and our relationships to Dometic are very good. If it was intended for a bass boat we think they would say. The present SeaStar jackplate and the Pro Tap systems both had a lot of influence from BCB, so much that Rick’s name is on the patent.
It is shown on the Mercury website as an option for the Pro xs. They call it DTS Hotfoot and it shows a picture of a TH Marine hotfoot. Not sure if that is the SeaStar system.

Not sure if the above transferred as a live link but if you scroll down to the DTS Hotfoot section and click on the learn more link it takes you to a you tube video.
DTS Throttle and Shift is available as an option for the Mercury ProXS Four Stroke, but it is not an inexpensive option. Also if you go with DTS and want a hotfoot, need to use a DTS Hotfoot which is also more expensive than the mechanical hotfoot.
