Electronics Question for BCB

Hey guys, a question for you–with the announced move to Humminbird as the electronics first option, how are you mounting the top end units like the 997 at the console?If the Lowrance 37/38 units wont fit, then Im guessing the bigger Bird units dont either.Thanks for the update.Mike Whitten

Mike, the 997 will fit in dash on the Cougar FTD, Puma and PIV. I dont know the “plan” on mounting in the other models.-Joe

Mike, You must have missed it as we have worked with “Bird” since the final stages of the 987 csi units. We have offered the 987 csi in dash since availability.Your usually spot on, though you must have missed this one while working hard or fishing a bunch!Those 38 and 37 units are about 1/2″ too large.BCB

Of course we offer Lowrance. We cant believe you both missed this. It has been discussed several times and you are usually both in the know. Last year and before we offered the Humminbird products and the Lowrance was Standard.In 2008 all boats come with Humminbird LCRs as standard equipment on the packages, and you can option the Lowrance products. We will still see a good many Lowrance units sold as they have been entrenched as a primary bass LCR. Though those Humminbird units are coming along very well! BCB

Hey now, Dont be a painting me with the same brush you need for Hollander!! I knew that Birds were the standards and that Lowrance was still the alternative–What I didnt know was if the 997 would fit in as a console mount–Fat Boy in Memphis is still doing most of his required readin!!Mike Whitten
