Engine wont turn over

Check the main battery leads maybe on backwards and other wired up correct. Motor works off of the big heavy wire. just a thought

And if youre positive the cables are connected, and to the correct terminals, and it is still dead, check the engine fuse. Steve

It sounds like a loose terminal wire on the battery post, which correlates to the replacement of the battery. This is a very common issue and they often are just a tad loose. It could just be pivoting the wire will help, and tighten those terminal ligs with pliers, plus put vaseline on them. As for the wiring harness being pulled loose, those are AMP brand connectors and this is not common. Though apparently you have one. You may see if you can relieve some pressure on the harness by pulling slack wire out of the deck gunnel. And we apologize for this one. The stern light will not retro and we have no intentions of using it elsewhere. It is a tight fit on the Jaguar already.

Got her going i tightened the terminals a bit more and walla. Curious though where is the engine fuse. I am learning more and more about this boat as i go but have ton to learn. Plus the funny thing the fron finder still only stays on for a second or two. Still havent got that one dialed in. do i access through the rod locker?

Does the engine make a beep when you turn the key like it normally would? I had the exact thing happen to mine, engine did nothing tilt/trim would not work. It IS a fuse. There is a small fuse block capsule on the drivers side of the motor pull the cover off, and you will see 4 fuses in there i think it is one 5 amp and three 20 amp fuses, pull the 20 amp fuses, mine was the ignition circuit fuse, (lower right 20 amp) and it was blown. I now carry spare 20 and 5 amp fuses. That is the only thing I know for a fact that will kill all power to the motor. Guess I should have read all the post where you got it going… but still its a good idea to carry those fuses as spares

There is something in the joint of the depth finder that is cutting down the power somehow. That is all that can be causing the unit to shut down. It could be a faulty unit, though what brand and model is this. BCB

Its a humminbird 87c. I also made sure the thing was seated properly.

Are your wire leads corroded? Ive had similar issues and fixed them easily by thoroughly cleaning the wires. They didnt look that bad to begin with but I was amazed at how big a difference it made. My battery was fine, my motor just couldnt draw enough power. Good luck.
