Erya – 250 SHO prop question

Oops! This one got by me. Yep, The Hydromotive four blade is a great prop. Elminates most of the chine walking at WOT. Does very well with the Eyra. Not saying its an Eyra issue because its not but it really adds control and carrys the load very well at higher speeds. Not as fast with light load vs three blade props if you are chasing WOT Rabbits. However, its great out of the hole, and I feel carrys the load extremely well and offers the best vs. three blade props.Its a toss up between the 27T1 Venteless Prop vs 26 Fury. Right now Im shooting for a bigger wheel only appropriate if you have a Hyd. JP and then Im not sure but Im going to find out soon. Im real close to ordering a Hyd. JP. Ive never used the TXP four blade. Have you tried it yet?

No I am going to try to get to Fork soon and try it out. Steve is a prop guru and a go fast guy and he tells me that may be the best prop he has seen on similar HP to weight boiats as the Erya. I am def going to try it out. He also said the holeshot will be as good or better than with the Fury I am running now…

There is a misconception among the go fast crowd that the Eyra weighs in like a Bullet or Alli though it doesnt. It still weighs into the 1600 to 1700 pus ranges, depending on equipment. It has a unique hull that does have plenty of potential to stretch out or run well with those 200 or 225 engines. Just watch propping as the results may not be as they expect.

Basscat,I am endeavoring new directions for me and am getting a Hyd. JP for my Eyra. From what I have come to know to really stretch out the Eyra with a 250SHO Ill need to spin a larger prop. However in order to actualize a functional hole shot a HYD. JP is required to find the sweet spot at that end then raise the SHO high enough to get the rpms up to let the Eyras hull and do its magic at that WOT end. Am I going in the right direction with this? Oh, and the Eyra fishes great too.

We do think that on a desire to run both ends of the spectrum for maximum top end and loaded hole shot your uses would be enhanced by a hydraulic plate. Though we still do not think a hydraulic plate is for most people, just more for your individual needs. BCB

I am still running a 26 Fury and I am liking what I am seeking. With the water as hot as it is down here in Texas, As Fly has indicated, a bigger wheel could be beneficial.I would like to get my hands on a 27 Fury, just to see if I notice a difference, but have not found a dealer that will let me try one out first.

I had a Quad IV X-OB from Hydromotive on my 250SHO and it did fine. However to much bow lift out of the hole for me. Best prop for controlling chine walk on my Eyra by far. Lost about .7 of a mph vs three blade prop at WOT. Thats the only reference I can share. Like to read more per your evaluations with your four blade endeavors. Im going to test Turbos SHO specific prop next week on my 250SHO/Eyra. Ill share what I find.

Swatter,I saw that you tried the Turbo prop. I have an SHO 250 on my Eyra with the 25t1. Lots of bow rise and takes a while to plane out. Do you think that prop would cure that issue?

Sorry I was late to see this post. 26FXP was not enough prop at 2″ below pad. Yes, to noticeably less bow rise. If I still had my Eyra/250SHO Id be trying out a 27 FXP.
