Eyra Hole Shot and HumminBird Interference

Just got my new Eyra in the water. Hole shot is amazing. It is like no other one I have been in.Humminbird display on bow depth jumps all around unless I turn the dash unit off. I forgot to order boat with transducer on the troller foot instead of built-in. Do you think the hull mount is too close to the one on the transom? Anyone have a fix for this or should I order new sender to be mounted on troller? This is my 20th Cat going back to 1988, including P2s and P3s and CougarFTDs and one Puma. This one may turn out to be my favorite. But my wife, Melba, says I say that every time. Too soon to test speed but the boat just feels right.

I wouldnt think they are too close as they should be about 6-8 feet apart from each other. But it does sound as if you are getting some interfernece. May check the frequency settings on both units and make adjustments as needed, Ive only run Lowrance so I cant help ya much on the H-Birds but there are a few on here who will be by shortly. I always like to have both options, one on the troller and one built in for the FWD unit, that way if i lose one transducer i still have the other to plug in and not ruin a days fishing.

Does the trolling motor running or not running change the view.

Phil, One thing that might help is to go to the sonar setup on the menu and take the depth off of auto. Set it to just a little deeper than the area or lake you will be fishing. This helped mine from jumping around. Hope this helps……..Dennis S.

Bottom still jumps around when both are running. Troller does not factor in. I did put it on fixed depth and that seems to work but would rather leave it on auto. I have another MG with built-in sender but dont yet have adaptor to plug in the H-bird. Will look into to that as next step. Thanks everyone.
