Eyra Swapping from Fury

Like most other Eyra owners with the 4s 250 Merc, my Eyra runs best with a 3 blade 24p Fury.
Over the last few years I have had several sling blades.
Im considering trying a Tempest or a Bravo but unsure which would be the best sizes to get the best performance possible.
I understand I may lose some speed, but which would lose the least amount and hopefully not have this Fury problem of slinging blades.

My 21 Eyra runs best overall with the 24 Fury too and I haven’t had any issues slinging blades. I have a 25 tempest plus and the boat will run 2-3 mph faster with this prop when it is not dog hot. It comes out of the hole a little better with the fury and run’s better at lower speeds. I have 4 batteries, 3 lead and 1 agm, no power poles. 80-82 with tempest plus and tanks quarter to half, 78-80 with fury, hope this helps!

Thanks, I also have poles, 4 agm batteries. Currently max out around 78mph, i can live with a solid 76 all day speed if I can keep the blades from slinging off. Does the Tempest like to run a bit higher? I do have a Bobs plate

I do not have power poles; I run the tempest 6-7 on gage of Atlas hydraulic jackplate and fury 5-6 on JP. I’m not sure how much height is gained per each number on gage. The tempest don’t really lift the boat that well until 54-5500 rpm’s then it does really well, I guess that’s why I think the fury overall is the best prop, but the tempest performs best at the top end.

What rpm are y’all turning? This guy claims his slows down propped to spin more than 5800 which I find hard to believe and wish dyno curves were released to the public like in the automotive world as they have to dyno them for emissions purposes, but I believe the reason for them not doing that is the 10% rule on outboards that allows them to make within the advertised number + or – which the latter would hurt sales of course if it was widely known.

Mine runs 6-6100k with both props in most conditions. Dog hot, both tanks full, 250lbs fishing partner ect obviously changes performance, also I don’t tournament fish much so no water in live wells with these numbers.
