Fisin for Experience about Stress Cracks?

Although I love my cats I speak from experience stay away from the boat mkne did the same thing took to 2 dealers and a fiberglass shop all of them agreed it was not from hitting anything just a unfortunate hull from factory and I say this as I am shopping for another cat again so Im not trying to stir the pot because I absolutely love these boats but the factory was less than impressive about even discussing the issue told me boat had basically a horrible contact with something and was not there fault explained the boat had issues first year the boat was new and had emails showing dialog with there warranty department reporting such ….I had printed thsm off in case of further issues. and the cracks got dramitacally worse and still fell on deaf ears it wasnt open for discussion even though I had repair shop that repairs bcb boats completely disagree with them.love the boats I have had 4 of them but in my experience sometimes the factory doesnt always see eye to eye on problems

#1. You are on the wrong board to talk about this, please move your post to the forum.#2. ALL boats are succeptable to cracking with the resins that have been force fed the industry since 2004 or so.#3. Stress cracks are cosmetic. They do not indicate failure of the structure, but rather impact or use in less than perfect conditions.You know when you hit that one wave wrong, and the boat shudders from the impact,,,,, thats gonna leave a mark ! Or fishing stumps in high wind, and bump into the side of the boat, or moor for the night and tie off securely only to wake up to a storm with high winds,,,,,,, yep, thats what it sounds like happened here.

On a 2005 model year we assume. While we do appreciate that you show an affection for BCB models it appears this was a 2005 model as this was the boat you recently sold. If this was recent then this boat is well past warranty and stress fractures are not covered under any warranty. The factory is acceptable on some fractures though a 2005 year model would be beyond any consideration no matter whether these were a warranty item or not. Several factors one into play on any service,ownership, transfer of ownership and nature of any issue.

While I do like BCBs…there response to items as this are sometimes frustrating to say the least….Ive trolled this a few times, but will troll it few more…they would not fix a soft spot in the floor of my PII, even though the local dealership fixed quite a few boats with the same issue under warranty….

Thats why its a limited lifetime warranty. No way would I even expect BC to pick up the tab on a soft spot in the floor of my boat, a 96 Eyra. Or even the 97 PII I had before. Or the 89 Sabre. Those boats of that age had a more restricted length of warranty (maybe 3-5 yrs) and different construction.If a 94 P II has a soft spot, take it to a reputable fiberglass shop and get it fixed. Back in 1992 , when my business had started to get going , I told Rick P. that I was interested in finding a boat that I could fix and use for a few years . ( Insurance job ) — He called me about a week later and said he had what I might want . — It was a 1988 Pan 2 that had hit a river barge . — It had some pretty good damage to the nose and left rail . — The price was right and I bought it . — From that impact it had numerous stress fractures all over it , which worried me greatly , for about 5 minutes . — Having built boats for a few years I understood what happens when fiberglass gets flexed from an impact , and was sure there would be no problems . — Well , 18 years later I sold it , and it still zips around the lakes here in N. Arkansas . — Still has stress cracks , and still takes on everything Bull Shoals has been able to throw at it . — I PUT THAT BOAT THROUGH PURE H— while I had it and it never once gave me pause to worry if it could take it . — Nuff said . — BASS CAT STRONG INDEED !! — Hoss
