Topic: front graph hook up advise needed

I am in the process of disconnecting my front Lowrance locator and hooking up a hummingbird on my 08 puma. There is only a real small hole that the wiring runs through. I am looking for help on the best way to run the wiring. It seems when I pull on it that it may be running to the trolling motor plug. Would this be true and I need to take that out? Thanks for any help.

Jim, unscrew the cover at the trolling motor plug, then unscrew the cover on the switch plate near the head of the troller (where its laying down). The wiring is most likely connected there and you can fish the wiring from the head unit through to the motor plug plate and then to the switch connection. hopes this makes sense, thats how my 09 was wired. If you remove the plate that the trolling motor plug goes into you should be able to access ( pull out ) the connection from the lowrance – factory connection . The graph wires are butt connected to a pigtail comming from the acc switch . I have found it easiest to open both plates and take off the clam shell . That will get you started as for re connecting there are lots of variables hopefully some of the experts will chine in .

May be obvious, but if cant push the wire directly through, tie some string to the wire before you pull it out so you can pull the new wire back through.
