BCB BCB, can you give more information please. This leaves me wondering if I should have a concern. Just which Bass Cat owners should be concerned about their rigs. Certain year models? Certain Motors? Certain colored lines? etc, etc. Has there been recent failures? ThanksEveryone should believe in something. I believe Ill just go fishing!

Was looking on a Mercury site and found out that the grey fuel lines with blue print are the epa lines and are ethanol friendly. All other different colored writing is not.( Mine on my 06 is red lettering )

I have an 09 Mercury 250 Pro-xs. Are my lines fine or do I need to look into having them replaced? Corky

Corky, Check the stripe on the grey hose, and the other hoses should be fine.

New lines are black with a red strip on them…..Yes, I have personnaly seen the damage resulting from E10 to the grey lines. It is ugly to say the least. the one that I saw was out a 2004 model that had sat for a while. if you are having any high speed lose issues that feels like the engine is starving then the lines and filter may something to check first. His would get on plane and run up to 4000-4200 rpms and then come back off plane but never completely shut off. He changed out the line, fuel filter and bulb then cleaned the fuel pump. What about the grey line with the primer bulb. My fuel lines are black but I would have to look to see if they had a red line on them. Thanks

The new mercury lines are grey with blue writing. All other colored writing is not the newer EPA lines that are ethanol friendly. Not certain about the bulb.

I cant find a strip on any of my lines but the letters on the grey line with the bulb has red letters on it. Dont see ay linens on the black lines.

I just ordered E10 resistant lines from BCB that are black with a red strip running the length of the hose. The writing say ” MPI Perm-Guard Marine fuel SAE J1527 USG Type A1-15 ISO 7840-A1 CE 360-0380 3/8″ 2009 USA” This is what I was told to replace my lines with. When I have the time to change the pump and lower unit oil I will change out the fuel fiter, fuel line, and clean the pump screen at the same time. I do not know what lines can be effected by the E10 but do know that the grey line with red writing on it in the 2004 Sabre is affected by it. I do not think that the lines prior to the bulb or from the tamk to the bulb is having a issue but after the bulb is where we saw the problem. Anything else is beyond my personal knowledge and I encourage you to contact BCB to be positive. ElwoodElwood…..Bass Cat Proud

I have a 09 and gray lines with nothing,,,??I would not even know how to replace the lines from the tank itself on a sabre,,looks sealed around the side of the boat.Maybe use a plumbers snake?

We have a hose that will definitely be ethanol resistant now. Though the grey hose from Mercury is a smaller size on exterior dimensions. You can take either direction and the hose must be marine rated to be used in a boat. You can buy similar hose from auto stores though it is not marine rated. BCB

IF the lines are not weathered now, they should not need replacement. Even way back then those were A1 lines and you should not have an issue. If they are aged, then go ahead. The pickups are usually a polyester stem, with a short rubber bottom end on some. The lower end could go bad, though the poly stems should not. The earlier late 80s and early 90s tanks have a PVC type hose and those could soften. These were moving pickups that laid in the bottom of the tank with a weighted end. We would replace the stem hose and not the pickup with new style on those. The later 90s models have a poly stem with a cut angle taper shaft. They should be fine. BCB
