IF the lines are not weathered now, they should not need replacement. Even way back then those were A1 lines and you should not have an issue. If they are aged, then go ahead. The pickups are usually a polyester stem, with a short rubber bottom end on some. The lower end could go bad, though the poly stems should not. The earlier late 80s and early 90s tanks have a PVC type hose and those could soften. These were moving pickups that laid in the bottom of the tank with a weighted end. We would replace the stem hose and not the pickup with new style on those. The later 90s models have a poly stem with a cut angle taper shaft. They should be fine. BCB
