Fuel reading on Smart Craft Gauges

2006 Puma. Dual fuel tanks in rear and belly tank.  Suddenly lost reading on Smart Craft gauge for Fuel 2 reading (which i had as my rear tanks.)  Tried resetting the Smart Craft gauge but it only recognizes Fuel 1 (belly) and oil reservoir.   Until now it recognized all three.  My question: how does the smart gauge recognize the second fuel tank exist?  From the sending unit on the tank, or the panel switch?  Tried both options.  Confused and seeking help.  Bad sending unit, bad panel?

The gauge only has a sender for two tanks. There are three tanks and two senders, plus the gauge only reads two, and we only wire it for two.

SmartCraft is a very stable system and any issues are usually signal supply, which means a wire is loose from a sender or you have a bad sending unit.

Thanks.  Think I’ve got this:  The Smart Craft will only read two inputs.  Got that.  One has been dedicated to the oil reservoir and the other to fuel.  On the dash panel I could hit “L” or “R” and get readings for the belly (L) or rear (R) tanks.  So the dash panel is determining which signal (L or R) is going to the guage.  So issue must be with rear tank wiring or dash panel?   FYI.  Thanks for earlier help with rod box lighting.  Mostly ground issues to lids.  Hopefully fuel issue will be as easy to diagnose.
