Fuel Switch

[need a boat]

Thats a good question. Mine is a 93 and it turns all the way around and appears to click in four spots. I ran it out of fuel the other day and had a heck of a time getting it going again.

I have a 93 pant 2 and the selector indicator is pointing left-off straight up -left pointing to right-right. this is viewing from behind boat looking forward. Have never used other posistions, hope this helps you. have a good weekend……….pant2

looking at the switch from the back of the boat, left+left tank, straight up=right tank, right=off. those should be the only positions you should use. hope this helps!Joe Fuerst

These were screen printed with the fuel tanks marked back when the boats were new. Over the years we have seen some outside or well used baots which have had the markings worn off by UV and weather.It wont matter much on a P2 as long as you have one side pulling, then mark that valve for your boat, and then flip it over to the other side as suggested, and mark that vavle with a sharpie marker. Just go ahead and relabel the valve when you have time, after you figure out your sequence. There are a short amount of valves different than others, though we dont recall which ones? BCB

I guess I will have to experiment. I tried straight down and it turned out to shut the fuel off. I have been running it straight up and it pulls out of the left tank. I suppose I will run the other two setting and see what is what. Thanks for the help.

For what its worth, heres how it works on my 91 Sabre: Switch in the UP position: draws off the left tank. Switch turned to the “RIGHT” position: draws off the right tank. Switch in the “LEFT” position: turns the gas off.Kenny

Works the same on my 1994 PII. Ive seen other PII which still have the labels on it and thats how it works.Hope it works for you.

No, though you can install a Tee in line on the twin 26 gallon fuel tanks and it will work just fine, thoguh most prefer the valve.

There were a few pro’s in the early 90’s who preferred the Tee in line for their personal uses.

I have an 98 PII and still can see the Left and Right Labels works just like Sabre175 stated on my boat
