Shouldn’t it only switch when power is cut off(master power switch), not when engine is shut off?

Here’s another one, why do the trim buttons at the bow only work when the lights are turned on at the dash??

sounds like you have some wires crossed.  unless you are familiar with wiring and circuits then you probably would be better off swinging by a BCB dealer to take care of.  There should be a toggle switch at the bow that powers up the tilt/trim switch buttons and that entire bow panel.  It must be on for those switches to work.  It could be possible that the wires there are crossed with you nav lights causing the issue.

I did some checking and this is what I have:

With the master switch near the driver’s seat on there is no power to the bow power switch – no power at the bow (trim/tilt doesn’t work and no power to the gps puck).  If I turn the lights on at the dash, I now have power to the bow light switch but still no power to the bow power switch.  The bow light switch seems to control the power to the trim/tilt and to the bow power switch.  With the bow light switch on (and the dash light switch on) the trim/tilt works at the bow and there is power to the bow power switch.  The bow power switch has no control on the trim/tilt, which it originally did.  The only thing the bow power switch seems to control, only with the lights on, is power to the gps puck.  This is all VERY confusing and frustrating.  Especially in view of the never ending problems I have had with this boat and it’s accessories.

This just started recently.  Also, sometimes when I turn off the master switch near the driver’s seat the dash remains on.  Could there already be something wrong in the dash?

I know it should but it doesn’t.  The bow light switch now turns on the bow switch and controls the trim/tilt and only if the lights are turned on at the dash.  I really don’t want to fish all day with my lights on.

Would this likely be at the bow or the dash??  I had my trolling motor serviced a couple of months ago, could something have happened then?

Absolutely if they removed the bow panel.
