Fuel Tanks – Gauges and Senders

First an Image of a Sight Glass Now the descriptions: And these are related to production mostly after 2003. 1. The Switch in the Dash only controls the Gauge on the dash. Selecting from Rear to Front or Left to Right. 2. Right is Rear or Right, and Left is Front or Left (Bay Cat Included) 3. The rear Valve controls which tank you select. 4. Saddle tanks in rear (2 X 10 Gallon Puma) will siphon between each other. Though it will take time, so fill both tanks some if you are going fishing now. 5. Seat Tanks hold about 33 Gallons (32 actual) and the pick up is in a sump that holds the last 8 ounces of Fuel. 6. Rear Kicker tanks are 10 gallons each, 2 x 10 on a Puma or Pantera IV, and 10 Gallons on a Pantera Classic ot Pantera II model. 7. Cougar FTD, Cougar Advantage Elite and other Dual rear tank only models have 26 Gallons of capacity each, and are from 22 to 27 usable depending on the fuel tanks. 8. Later Model Dual 26 gallon models have appx. 25 gallons total capacity, and usable varies from that down to 23 gallons. 9. Smart Craft Gauges can not be set to Gallons on Mixed 33 and 10 gallon Tanks installations, The gauges should be on percentages. 10. The dual Rear Tanks should be set on 25 Gallons for Safe Sake on those Dual 26 Gallon Tanks. 11. The Oil Tanks should be set on 3 Gallons on Smart Craft. 12. BCB Only uses the one Fuel Tank Gauge on the Smart Craft units. The other is the oil tank as discussed above. 13. The Sight Gauge is very visible in sunlight an high lighting with shadowing as shown above. It is not easily visible in low light conditions and indirect sunlight. 14. The Sight Gauge will deteriorate due to tank discoloration with newer fuels in approximately 2 to 5 years. Depending on the moisture content and condition of fuel used. 15. Plastic Tanks will discolor in time and the sight gauge may also be unusable in that period of time. If you have further questions contact BCB Service for more information. BCB
