Fulton XLT question AND ANSWER from BCB?

Fulton XLT on my trailer does not lock up to winch up after lock & unlock (bottom) lever is engaged in lock(top) position unless I manually align the tooth by using lock/unlock lever to lock/winch up. Example, once the boat is on the trailer and hooked up to Fulton, and the lever on the right is pushed up in the lock position, and start turning the winch. However, the teeth will not engage unless it was done manually by hand (by using lock/unlock knob). Is there a simple solution or should I just replace it? If it needs to be replaced, then do I have to torque the bolts to set lbs or just tighten them? Thanks in advance. Take the internal spring assembly on the shaft which has the lock tension spring, and use a crew driver, tap the star tension washer towards the spring, This will seat the assembly and few have had to repeat the process. It is much easier and simpler than replacing a winch. Fulton has been informed of this and we will forward them this post as well. BCB
