.I installed mine on the inside wall of the starboard rod locker of my Puma STS. I removed the rubber stern light holder and used the hole as a starting point on where to mount it. I pointed the box connectors to the front and inserted the bolts from the storage box to the rod box using bolt caps to give it a finished look. You will need an extension of the network cable – https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/garmin-bluenet-network-cable. I removed the other stern light holder and used that hole to install a cable clip to route the cables forward keeping them up and out of the way. You can also mount it on the back wall of the rod box but you will also need an extension for the transducer cable. John Crews mounts his on the floor of the rod box as seen in his rigging video.
