Gas Gauge Not Accurate on My Classic

The last time I filled up my Classic, the fuel gauge never went all the way to FULL, but is somewhere between 3/4 and Full. However, it has not dropped from this spot since, although I have been burning gas by running my motor (sometimes rather hard) and jumping big LOZ waves. When the key is off, the gauge drops to around 1/4; turn the key on or start the motor and it goers us to the 3/4-Full mark. This is NOT Smart Craft--just regular issue gauge.I checked the obvious--removed the cover under the jump-seat and wire appears to be connected to the sender (large black wire sheath). Also, under dash, everything appears to be connected to the gauge. What next? Dealer is 200 miles away and Im on a hoist...Gary HollanderBTW, I cant see anything but my reflection when I look in the gas viewing-glass in front of the tank housing under the drivers seat.
