Topic: Genius charger issue…

I have a light..(Center one) on my Genius charger that is dimmer than the other two when I begin charging. The charger also never charges that battery and goes green on that bank.. I swapped out the battery to see if that was the issue and still have the same results. I have done some searching on the NOCO site and here and havent seen anything that references a dim light with no charge....I havent had a chance to get a voltmeter on the battery while charging yet, but the battery that I took out and the one that I replaced it with both tested good on a stand alone charger....Is there an inline fuse on each bank? Has anyone seen this before???Thanks for any help....

There is a fuse near the connection to the battery. I finally gave up on the on board chargers and went to the Lester.

I am leaning towards going that route if this isnt an easy fix….

Lester chargers are awesome. I have a 24 volt that I no longer use since running 36v trolling motors.

Fuse was blown. Replaced fuse and still not charging that bank..

BRNZ , you neglected to mention how old the unit is . — I just had to replace mine , but it was nearly 6 years old . — With that said , I bought another one , since the first one bounced around through all kinds of h— its entire life , and just now gave up . — They make them tuff , but not indestructible , unfortunately . — Hoss

Its on a 2010 boat that I bought new in fall of 2011 from Sherm……So it has been in operation for 2.5 years….Less than 70 hours on boat…I left a message with Noco this morning but no one has returned my call…….

Seems to me the LESTER fans are weighing in HEAVILY on this subject . — The reason I went back with NOCO is because of the size of the Lester unit . — Kind of nice to just plug in my boat and lock the lids when Im staying somewhere ” questionable ” , which can be anywhere , anymore . — Just my 2 cents worth . — Hoss
