i am running the yamaha 250 hpdi on my 06 cougar with a 27m yamaha prop. right now the hole shot is pretty good and at wot i am turning 5800 rpms and 76.8 mph by the gps with 2 people and full load of gas and equipment. numbers are fine but i dont like the lift i am getting feels like i am running really flat. was wondering what differance the 27 t yamaha prop would make in my numbers and would i have more lift ? i know the t has more blade area and i think it is recomended for the 225 and up engines. would the incresed blade area mean i would need to drop back to a 25 in the t series? trying to get an idea of what i should be looking for to try out on it.thanx for any help.
pretty good number regardless of the lift. too much lift and you push water and slow down. if you want more lift, try lowering the engine. Again, pretty good numbers and that will be hard to beat regardless of what prop you change to.
