Dude we all know the truth, especially for the 5th Consecutive year!!!! Skeeter was probably going 90, as they say down the Highway….I had a guy last year that was checking out our 08 Cougar FTD with a 250 HO on it, he asked speeds and since we had not tested the 250 HO I quoted what the factory told me, 80 would not be a problem, oh he didnt like that, he said his I class 21 footer with the Yammie 300 series 1 would go 93 on gps, my boss nicely said, “wanna put $500 on that”, he said no and continued on…..You will hear all kinds of “fishing storys”, from 100 mph Tritons to 12 inch , bass yeah thats it……Its cool that youve been participating on here Youngblood, Rick said your familys know eachother, that means you gotta order a real cool colored hull…..BrannonYour Signature …

When I first started running Cats, I used to argue with those folks a lot, and it truly is a waste of time. You truly cannot argue with folks like that–it only wastes your time and annoys them, because they do not want to be confused with factual information. Rick Pierce taught me a long time ago, never argue with folks, just state facts politely, and let the boats speak for themselves. I constantly have people discussing how fast, how fast, how fast, and I try to downplay and explain how speed is very subjective to many conditions. I do have to recount two different times though that were kind of comical. Both were nights before big tournys and guys were bragging about what their equipment would do and wouldnt you know who I ran down and ran past the next morning. I find it is so much better to be very humble and let the proof show in action regarding all facets of life. Oh by the way one of those guys is running a Cougar today. Youngblood, just calmly let the product speak for itself, it will speak loudly.

Had that kind of talk happen to me with my first Cat. I had an 89 Sabre with 95 model 175 EFI Mariner Magnum. My cousin ran a Javelin with GT 175 Johnson. He had all our mutual friends dogging the Cat and bragging how fast that Jav was. I finally had heard enough after being nice/polite–so I just told them if we happen to be on the same body of water at the same time we could run em. Just let the boat talk and you walk… The truth will come out on the water. When the rollers start look and see who is still dry at the end of the day and still running down the lake. Last week we had 2 boats “I wont mention brands” follow us out and turn around and go back. They couldnt keep the boat in the water.
