I had the same problem and fixed it. Most likely it is a ground at fault if the entire light string is out. The leads that are connected to the hatch hinge screws are ground wires. Try moving those leads around and see if the string comes on. If it does, tighten the screws in that position. If you cant see, get a makeup mirror from your wife or girlfriend, and follow the wires. If you see a terminal anywhere that looks like a post, try to turn it and see if the lights come on. If you have a test light you can put the alligator clip on a good ground, touch the mercury switch with the test end. If it lights up it means that the mercury switch is good, and the ground is bad. If you read my post in the other thread, I was wrong. I just fixed the problem, and found out new information along the way.James
