I like the increased screen size on the 10 but I also like the neatness of being in the dash. If the screen size is sufficient on the 8 for you then I would probably have it dash mounted. At the same time if you had the 10 on a ram mount, it could be turned for easier visibility for someone fishing on the back. Wish I had your problem……. Our advice is the HDS 8 for several reasons, the dash is one, and the reliability is also seemingly better on the 8 over the 10. There are more, though we prefer to not elaborate.
