HDS gen 2 touch vs gen 3

not sure what the last statement means but I like the chirp because the numbers that indicate depth are “MUCH” bigger and I have great vision. the HDS units have very small numbers especially for the fisherman on the back trying to see it at the console

I had an HDS 10 on a Sherms mount on the Sabre and now have the same on my P2. I dont think I would have a problem putting a HDS 12 Gen 3 Touch on that mount. Down the road a little ways though.Dan

I have 2 hds8 gen2 . The one at the console is on a sherms mount. My buddy has a hds 12 at the console on a sherms for me the 12 is to much for the console. I think the 10 is the perfect size screen. Just go to edit overlay on ANY HDS, and you can change the size and what you want to appear on the screen.

I first had a HDS 7 Touch which was a little lower on this mount, then decided I wanted a HDS 9 so I raised the shelf so it would clear my gauges. My home made mount is much like Sherms, and I made it so the HDS sets as close to the dash as possible. I think a HDS 12 would be a little to big for this location, and thats why I ended up with a 9.

I built this mount to move the ole hbird from behind the steering wheel. I got tired of hunching over the steering wheel while searching for hogs.

Its just some 1/8″ alum I had left over from a sign I built. I cut it out and had my buddie weld it up for me. I also made the little white piece out of some epoxy to keep the unit from rotating.
