It is actually the company that bought Ranger at Auction from their Bankruptcy, which owns Ranger, Champion and Stratos, not Ranger themselves. There is an article on Bass Fan regarding this. Only time will tell if rumors are real, though our industry indicators are very solid that Bass Fan has good information. They (Jon Storm & John Johnson0 have been chastised for their investigative reporting on rumors in the past, though our information in the industry has always shown them to be spot on to developments, whether or not those developments progress or are executed. Another market indicator how a brand that started off with good intent with Earl is about to be come a lower end boat. Rick how has all this worked to increase BCB market share

All I can say is the Educated Consumer will make BCB White Hot with news like this out there. Tracker im sure is solid with the Every Day fisherman but the folks that want quality and everything that comes with boat ownership but in a positive way will be shopping BCB. God if this is a market indicator of the true financial end of boat building I wonder what smaller NEW companies that are selling some here and there are faced with, their bankers must be chewing Tums by the handfuls. Sorry guys this didnt come from bass fan website or jon storm , i got a call from a friend who is at the ICAST show who has been a friend of earls for the past 25 yrs that is still in the boating industry . Whether this happens tom or not who knows and whether earl has anything to do with the deal or not he didnt really go into details about it , all we can do is see what transpires within the next few days or weeks.

Platinum Equity (who bought the Genmar brands) probably isnt in the bass boat game for the long haul, so Id look for those brands to be sold yet again in another 5 years or so. Going to be hard for those brands to get any traction in that situation. Rick was right, though, about the info being on BassFan.
