Mine was doing the same thing. Pull the engine cover, in front of engine locate two valve cocks with a black hose running between them. Pull hose of one, put a cup underneath and open petcock and drain some gas/water out. Close, hook hose to other petcock and do the same to the other side until nothing but gas is running out. Alarm is water sensor in your water seperator on engine. Consequence of using gas with ethonol in it. Ethonol is hydroscopic.
