HELP W/ A10 INSTALL

can anyone tell me what Im doing wrong. Ive got everything mounted and gauges wired but when I go to hook up the purple wire to the ignition it will blow the main fuse on the outboard. my ignition has 2 purple wires coming out of it with one of them taped off. Ive tried both purple wires with the same result (blown fuse).

The purple wires do not attach to the A-10. They are positive leads from the ignition switch. These would have been used on the BP-100 or 101 dashes, though not on an A-10.BCB

Im replacing my bp100 with the A10. The new package came in with a purple wire taped htat said wire to your purple ignition wire on key switch. Also brn/white for trim to brn/white from ignition found that but the purple keeps blowing fuses.Thanks

Dont have a schematic at home, though we dont think you need that purple wire on the A-10. The brown and white is a trim gauge from memory. It will be listed in your BP manual. BCB

What do you loose when you switch to the A10? For example do you loose any alarms or functions?tiny

You will loose the security alarm, surface temp, compass, hour meter, run distance and clock. Im sure Im leaving something out but my BP100 had gone out so it wasnt much of a choice for me plus I like the look of the gauges. Ran it for the first time today and very happy with the new package.
