Help w/mounting options at console

Looking for some advice on mounting my 899 SI at my console. Dont want to cover current HDS in dash or block any of my gauges on my 2010 Cougar Advantage. BCB didnt leave much room for mounting options to the right of console. Any advice (especially pics of others installs) would be appreciated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Some owners remove the pop up cleat at the right side and put a ram mount in its place.

If you look at that flat vertical spot where the dash runs into the side, my classic has a ram mount there. I did a little cutting and grinding on the ram to get it over to the right of the speedo, not that the speedo is very important with a GPS in the dash. In any case, it works well. 2008 Pantera Classic2014 Mercury Pro XS 200

Looks like you have metal hand rails…. If so I would go with the Ram mount with the motorcycle hand rail adapter. I have had both the small and the medium sized ram mounts on the rail of mine and it holds a HDS 10 or 9 Touch quite well.

I took the rope cleat out in front of the shifter and drilled the Ram mount holes to fit. This way I didnt drill any holes in the boat. When I get ready to sell Ill pull this out and put the cleat back in. Its rock solid,,,,thats an 1198 sitting on a 2.25 inch RAM ball. Its never moved on Toledo, Barnett, Miss River, Pickwick. Look at the cleat. There are two screws holding it. Now thats a 2017 boat so I dont know what year model your working with but its some heavy duty hardware. So, no it doesnt line up. I drilled the new holes on the Ram ball and used just those two screws. I havent put any new holes anywhere in the boat. Just unscrew the cleat, hold it to the Ram mount and drill
