Help with seat removal

I have an 03 P4. Im getting the seats recovered. I was able to get the bottom off, but the back has upholstery that is molded on an aluminum frame. I cant get the screws off the frame to take it out, nor can I get the square head screw out of the back, both just spin in place. Am I doing something wrong? Please help. Bryan.

So as far as the back part of the seat, I can just cut than square head screw then cut it flush and put a new screw with the seat when I replace it. And the part of the back seat that is around the pan, I can just cut with a razor or something?? Im recovering, not going to replace. The seat bottom, I can just put new bolts and nuts in. Not sure if I fully understood your post. Thanks. Bryan.

If you remove the seat pan you can remove the seats from the pan easier after pan is out.on mine,there were two screws,and the heads were down at the bottom of the seat back(below the actual back cushion) you kind of need to lift up on the cushion to get to them.i believe that my screws were trimmed shorter from the backside after seats were installed.if you are just recovering your seats,I would use all original hardware.
