We assume this to be a 2.5 block engine which is soft on hole shot, if so try a 23″ Tempest. Plus this boat has aged and probably lost horsepower while gaining weight.

I have some experience in a P-III with a 200 efi. I was looking at buying one when I bought my classic and took several test rides as well as fished out of one several times over the years. The 25″ temptest as BCB stated is just too much prop for that hull and a 2.5 liter efi. The 23 temptest or if you can find one of the rare 24 temptest you could try that as well. You will be much happier overall with the boat after you downsize the prop. It will do everything better and you wont loose very much on top end. Chris CoupelPaulina, La.Chris CoupelPaulina, La.

I have a 2024 Caracal STS. It would stand straight up at the sky and plow in the water forever. I ordered some 2 degree wedges and shop and a holeshot plate from Bobs Machine Shop. They were about $275. They made a world of difference. With the wedges it will still go beyond on trim. 2.5 to 2.75 on the jack plate is the spot on the jack plate.

4 blades will make life much better.    I run a 2021 Sabre.  The bow has Ultrex, 12 Garmin FFS, 10 bird w/ mega 360. 9 inch bird for mapping/waypoints.    That is a crap load of weight on the bow of an 18-foot boat.  Run a 24 trophy plus 4 blade and get more bow lift that you will ever need and hole shot is 3 seconds.   Engine is Pro 175 4 stroke.   Boat will run 62 loaded with tackle, me and 2 raptors on the back.
