Hole shots?

I have a jag, with a 225 Mariner. 4 blade, 26 pitch trophy prop. The boat is new to me, in fact bass boats are new to me. I must have the motor all the way down and trim all the way in or my bow just goes straight up and the motor captivates...After get the boat on a plain, the trim must stay close to the down position or the boat hops...I must be doing something wrong....Lifting the motor about one inch and leaving the trim up a small amount the boat goes good. If I trim more, the rmps pickup and the hopping begins.. Fuel is less then 1/2 tanks in each tank, one passenger and myself, plus tackle, not much...I really want to learn all aspects of this boat and be safe. PS, There are no Basscat dealers out here, so thanks to people on this forum.....
