Horn

Hey everyone. On a previous post I mentioned I was having horn problems. Thanks for the advice you gave since I found the problem - bad horn. Now I need to replace it but my horn is an older model that isnt shown on the website anymore. I have a 2000 Pantera III and this is the original horn. Will either of the two horns shown on the parts page fit my boat without any issues? Which would be better for my boat? Thanks.Matt

Mine is the same way (2013 PIV). When you press the horn button instead of a horn you just get a buzz sound… I havent looked into replacing it yet, though, thinking of maybe one of those tug boat horns. lol13 PIV w/ 200 MercIG: WarriorRiverCustomRods

That is what mine does. If you activate the security system it will buzz then get loud and good for a day

First thing I would do is clean the contacts on the horn and switch. That was my problem.George

It is often the horn though check voltage output from the switch.

I always laugh when I honk mine . — Anything more than idle speed and you cant hear it anyway . — I guess all they need do is conform to U.S.C.G. specs though .
