I recently purchased my 07 Puma from a BCB regional rep. He did not have a Hot Foot installed. Got all the parts from BCB the other day. I can handle most of this install myself. No BCB dealer anywhere near here (will go tho my local Merc dealer to check out my install before running) . I have 2 questions though. 1) I want to know EXACTLY where factory would cut the hole for the throttle cable... I have been looking through all the pics on this board, but nobody has a shot with a good angle. Also, it would be good to know what size hole saw to use (just to be sure).2) I have been trying to run the throttle cable from the stern up to console, starting at the boot in the splashwell, listening to where it sounds like the cable is along the way... I seem to be able to get it as far as the drivers seat before it stops forward movement, and begins making a loop inside the channel at the stern. Is there access to this channel somewhere Im missing? Thanks
The throttle cable comes through a hole about 1″ in diameter between the livewell control valve and the point at where the seat capsule butts up against the side of the boat. It also on same plane as the livewell control valve. As far as fishing it through…………..keep trying. You may end up having to remove the seat capsule, but isnt necessary if you have patience.
Thanks for posting Bill, that was really nice of you. The puma is laid out a little different though, the cable has to come out of the side wall since there is no cup holder in the corner, and the LW valve is lower…
