How dod you loosen the Caliper tension?

I had some HOT wheels(rear axle) the last couple times to the ramp... Some of those days were HOT days so I figured it was the heat/ alot of braking... Tuesday I headed to the ramp and it was more pleasent and tried my best to do light braking just to see the difference. Well.... Got to the ramp and they were hotter then hot and smelled like a 18 wheeler had just locked up its brakes.. Dumped the boat and took the trailer to a local shop and had then work on it.. The guy said that the bearing buddy was on slightly crooked and some water had gotten in the hub.. He also said that the Caliper was a little tight.. Not very tight but a little tighter then he would have liked to see... My question is.... How do I loosen the tension on the Caliper?

There is no way to loosen the calipers other than opening the faces on the mount to give more play.

Sounds like your caliper might be going bad where the piston does not retract after pressure is off., did he put new pads on?

Take lid off of master cylinder and compress your caliper pistons, with c clamp, they should go in very easy, another issue you could be having is rubber break lines collapsing which is what happened t mine caused from the environment safer brake fluid we have to use breaking down interior of lines.

Possible bad actuator! I had the same issue last year and wound up replacing he caliper and the actuator. When I went to remove the actuator it fell out it pieces. This was causing the calipers to have a constant pressure thus dragging the brakes and over heating, Also had to replace the bearings and seals. good Luck hope issue is not a bad?
