Hull speed bottom paint

Well I bit the bullet and committed to getting hull speed bottom paint applied to my 2013 p2. The manufacturer told me that Ike had this on his EYRA that was parked in the brush on the Sabine. He also told me it would give me a couple more mph on the big end with a faster hole shot. I ran my boat a week ago and got 71.3 loaded with light fuel. I plan on reloading th boat exactly how it was loaded during this run. I will be very surprised to get 73 out of it in the dead of summer but who knows. It is also supposed to make the boat more durable and slide over stumps with ease.

I thought on high speed boats they actually sanded the bottoms to get more speed?

I think the coating Toadrustler is describing creates a textured finish on the hull, rather than the slick gel coat. GRR884, you are correct though about sanding. Ive been told by a couple of Allison owners that they come out of the mold with a slight wedge on the rear end of the pad, approx. 1/8 in. tall, that they sand down as well as the surrounding area. Doing so creates much more lift and removing that lip allows more bow lift with less trim.

Im picking it up Friday. I will post numbers as soon as I can. It is suppos d to have an orange peel finish. If it really gives 2mph of the big end that just mens more skeeters with 250s that have broken hearts.
