The wiring colors are consistent :Yellow fuelWhite lights or accGreen aerationBrown bilgesPink we dont recall – horn we thinkOrange Acc.The stripe colors indicate the differences. We are not certain what causes differences in interference though we do think its from the same level of electrical pulse and some have it while some dont. BCB

I ran a new recommended (by HB and Doug Vahrenberg) wire along other side of boat (not yet inside gunnel but laying on top of deck) to starting battery with no improvement of the interference. Then ran wire to one of the TM batteries with no luck. The new 959ci HD DI comes with Ferrite Choke built in power cord but I tried adding another ferrite ring that HB sent me to try. No luck. The holiday boat traffic made working on the boat on my lift too difficult to try taking my 998c SI out of the dash to put up front to see if it works up there and putting the 959 in dash. I will try that when waves subside. By the way I even took the transducer off the TM and still had interence on the screen when touching TM button. I called a friend with similar situation who is using MK and he is having same issue so I dont think it is my MG. I have gone to HBs FAQs and searched BCBs board. Any ideas would sure be appreciated.

Is the interference on all screens? 2d and downscan/sidescan? If you put the trolling motor on high bypass does it change / improve? I had some interference on birds on trolling motor (24 volt tour motorguide ) havent got anything from humminbird but got a few ferrite clamps from radio shack. Those didnt seem help. I ran a ground from the unit power ground to the t.m. pedal right by the variable speed control……………………………Also you dont want the transducer cable ran alongside the flex cable going from the pedal to the head of the t.m. i also.ran a ground from the skeg on the trolling motor back to the t.m. pedal….not Shure that that helped enough to be worthwhile but did improve some. Thanks Gasaxe Got it fixed. Not sure what did it but here I go. Glad I did not have to fish the new cable to the back before it got done. I did take the TM cable away from from the head and away from flex cable and ran it along side of TM bracket. Also, put ferrite ring on TM cable as well as power cable. HB now works great. It took two days and an extra $35 for cable, fuse holder and connectors which will be in my shed if anybody needs. Oh, yeah and two more things. I replaced the metal hose clamps with quality plastic cable ties holding transducer to MG. I also placed a rubber square (about the thickness of three inter-tube pieces) between transducer and TM foot. I hope this helps someone else.
