Thinking about a new Erya...No experience with a hydraulic jack plate. Can someone help with advantages/disadvantages would be running a 250xs Mercury. Thanks, Tony
I cannot think of a single disadvantage of a 250XS on the back of an Eyra A hydraulic jack plate will also be nice. You get in skinny water, easy to raise her up. Get in choppy water, you can let her eat a bit more.
The advantages are in ruff water you can lower it and it will run better than the placement it runs the fastest, in shallow water you can jack it up so it will push your boat flat where if you used trim it pushes the back of the boat down. can adjust it as your load changes do to burning fuel ect. you dont have to trailer it to adjust it for max performace. disadvantages cant think of any.
You dont hear about people having much trouble out of them. Shallow water, ruff water, and easy to adjust for different setups and props. Ill have one on any boat I own from now on.
