I Like IKE (even more so)…

We were down in Mt. Home Friday/Saturday for the 21st Annual Corvettes of the Ozarks Corvette Show, and were staying at the Holiday Inn Express. I had spent a good part of the afternoon cleaning up our Carbon Fiber Z06, and went into the room to clean-up. Later, we took a walk outside to check on the car; also some fishermen staying there were coming back from Fridays weigh-in, so I was looking to pick up the latest news from the OI. Much to my surprise, a giant Toyota was parked next to our Corvette; it was IKEs ride. Soon he, his lovely wife and one-year old son were outside getting their luggage. I engaged Mike briefly exchanging greetings and my BCB past-life. He is a great fisherman, but also a great guy, and seeing him with little Vegas was priceless. Needless to say, fans were pulling into the parking lot, and Mike stopped and talked to everyone, signed autographs, and gave the kids pictures or posed with them. It was great to see him with his new family!He was as interested in our Corvette as well, and as we were leaving Saturday morning to go to the show, his wife and son were already up; Mike was long gone to the take-off and had spent the previous night at the get-together at the high school.I have pictures, but never seem to be able to get them to upload. No matter--IKE and his family are great and I have an even better opinion of him than before. That little guy, Vegas, is full of energy!And yes, we won "Best of Show" at the event with our 2012 Carbon Fiber Z07...Gary Hollander
