Ignition Switch Keys for New Boat?

When you get a new boat how many keys are supposed to be with the boat for the motor ignition in the dash? When I got my Caracal there was only one key and that was already in the ignition switch, and I just started looking through the Bass Cat bag with all the paperwork and could not find a second key if there was supposed to have been one as there were no other keys in the passenger console dash, rod lockers, etc.

Mine came with 2 ignition keys and 3-4 keys to the lock boxes, they were in the bag. I would get with you dealer, should be an easy fix.

You can get a second key at a mercury dealership.

The ignition is a Mercury part and they come to us with two keys on a ring, with a key number master tag. We install those and they are shipped new with both parts on the ring and in the ignition. As to what happens later, every dealership has a different method and Mercury does have replacements.

The place that sold me my boat is no longer a Bass Cat dealer.  I was not able to find a master tag so I reckon I just take the key I have into a Mercury dealer and they will be able to get me a spare key?
