Impact damage to glass near bow skeg

BCB, Please help. Not sure whats going on but I noticed significant damage to my new sabre. There is a chunk missing from my bow directly above the bow eyelet or whatever the thing is called that the trailer strap attaches to. I will try to send a pic of this damage. How can this damage happen? The only thing I can think of is that this happened either trailering on or off because the damage is well above the water line and I have not hit anything. I recently had you send me a replacment trailer cross beam rubber pad. Im guessing that the damage to the hull was there at the time I noticed the cross memebr pad was partially torn off. I did not notice the hull damge until last weekend though. The damage was hidden by the bow stop and is litteraly just above the eyelet. I feel that I will have to have the spare tire lowered 3 - 5 inches, install keel rollers on the two cross memebrs, and I guess fix the damage somehow and install a scuff buster bow guard or something similar over the repair to prevent this again. This is an 08 sabre so you can imagine how I feel about this damage. Its eating away at me so please give me some advice. Thanks.

Is there a possiblity you put the nose of the boat between the inside and outside bow roller? If you feel it hit the spare tire there is an easier way. Keep the bow hooked and back in until all the stuff is under water and the boat wont come off the roller except straight off. Then unhook the boat and float back (boat will be floating long before this anyway). Sorry that happened I know it stinks! Judd Lasiter

Having loaded many times ourselves on those FLorida ramps, we dont feel you will need to adjust anything. Since you are somewhat new to this performance boating thing, we are willing to look and see what you have. It may be that you got it in between the bow roller and end caps. Also the gel can pop off if you impact that bow stop hard. Get us an image and send it to Service@BassCat.com.: We will take it from there! BCB, Yep, I have to say that I have the same little owee! just ahead of the bow strap eye, about a 1 to 2 inchs long and 1/2 to 1 inch wide of the black jell gone. This is a first! I left the boat at LOZ, should I take it over and show it to Mungenast when I go back down? Chuck

Same problem, but mine came from a slip at Clear Lake that had a loose bumper and it separated from the dock during the night. Boat sat there all night bouncing of the dock – wood and angle iron- took a thumbnail size chunk out of the bow and scratched it up pretty bad Just spent a few hours today tracking down a few glass repair places. Anybody have ballpark idea of what cost should be? Thanks, John

John, Is your boat a solid color gel and is the chunk all on color? If so, and you are fairly handy, you may contact BassCat parts and order some new gel and do it yourself. Overall, it isnt all that difficult in most situations. AJ
