Input Needed

I have a question.....What would you do? I bought a Bass Cat from an indivdual down around Houston, TX back in March of this year...(96 Eyra)....Still to this day I have not recd the title. I do however have a bill of sale but not the title. I have tried to call this guy at least 10 different times and its either he will not answer his phone or if he does answer its the same ole song and dance..."I sent the title off it should be here in a week or two". He also has the seats and the lights which he was to mail with the title. As of today, still no title...Tried to call him again yesterday and nothing.....At a loss of what to do....Im guessing its time for a lawyer...What to you guys think?

First tell him you will move forwards if you do not receive title within 7 days, unless a bank or other institution intervenes with factual complications. Then follow through and Contact the Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife and inform them of your predicament. They do not take this lightly and they may not make you feel good about it, though you will feel better than the selling party will! BCB

And with caller ID, try calling him on a diferiant phone. At least youll be able to talk to him. Itll workout.

Send him a certified letter from an attorney requesting the title and the other items. He has to sign for it so you know he got it. That should do it. Did he have a lien on the boat?

Actually a TPW threat in Texas should resolve it if there is not a lein issue. If there is a lein issue you may be in trouble, which he will as well.

Arkansas does not require an MSO on anything except the trailer. There is no real recourse on this one other than threatening them with Arkansas Dept. of Finance. They have an investigative division that is worth contacting as a last resort. BCB
