Installation of Lowrance Hook2 -7" on 2001 Pantera III?
I have the 2001 Pantera III which has kind of odd dash, not much room on it. When I got it late last year there were 5" Pinpoint and a 5" Lowrance unit on top of dash, neither work well at all. Have a new Lowrance Hook2-7" unit coming to install on top of dash (no room for larger without going off to the side with a mount), after I remove the others. Not sure yet about how going to run the wiring but likely a direct wire from battery to under the dash and again assume a pain getting wire from batt. to under dash? Still havn't got wiring for my front 9" from batt. thru gunnels to front - have wire temp. taped to outside edge of boat and unit working fine for now. Question here mainly is: anyone out there with Pantera III with a split shot transducer hooked up? Would like to see pics if possible as not sure if I can go off boat (drill hole) or go off the manual jack plate, and if there is an optional item that would make it any easier? The P. III has pretty big "step" in rear and just not sure best way to hook up the Lowrance split shot transducer. Any ideas?
