Installation of Transducer on 1995 Pantera II

I purchased a GPS/fishfinder and was woundering where is the best place to mount the transducer and how is the best way. I am placing the GPS unit on the console. My boat came with a console mounted Zercom, I do not want to remove it so I can have a back up if needed. other wise I would have used its power source. Second question where do I get the power for the unit. The power cord that came with the unit is short. Is there a power bar to connect to. I do not see anything and do not want to splice into another power source. Thanks,

I placed my GPS unit on the back by the vent. I placed the ducer as a through the hull directly in front of the old ducer. If you dont have a unit you are upgrading from then you will need to bring power from the cranking battery. I would run shielded 14gauge wire from the battery to the source, I tied mine in between the console and the gunal on the right hand side, drilled a hole to bring the cables up through. Fishing the power source and transducer cable can be a PIA, and was the toughest part of the job

I mounted my GPS right behind windshield on dash dont have to run the wire to the back works great
