Run the fold down and butt seats in the center and rear positions. That give the cover some support. You may want to place something under the cover to support other areas you may find, depending on the boat model.
Take the ropes and make sure the rope runs in between the motor mount and gearcase down housing. The trim rams will have rope running through that area. Straighten the cover up on the boat to make sure the seams are basically lined up on the rub rail. Now take the ratchet pull, and hook the rope to the ratchet. Be sure you have the ratchet all the way over to the right side if it is on the left. Make sure you loop for the ratchet hook is right against the cover.
Take the ropes around the boat and then pull the rope tight, now tighten that rope again, now tighten it some more. No you probably are not tight enough yet, unless the ratchet has made it’s way into the folding flap that the extra rope is stored in.
Now take the straps and twist them one time as you loop the frame. That twist will prevent wind chaffing, and if they still flop then put another twist in.
Take those straps and tighten them up and be sure mto check vertical cover alignment on the rub rail as you tension the straps. Once you have all of the bow and side straps on, go tighten them again. Cut the excess strap and sear the ends to prevent fraying. Loop the extra strap into a pull knot (slip) that will easily some undone by pulling the tag line. Then take the extra and secure it by knotting that excess around the main strap. Do not tie the extra around more than one strap, or it will come loose.
Now go to the rear and secure the rear strapping, then double check the last side straps. These should need tensioning again.
That oughta’ do it!
If you still have excess pocketing and buffeting of the cover, then place another spacer under the cover, and be sure it will not wear into either the carpeting or the cover.
Do not charge batteries under a secured cover.
Whew! It took longer to put this up than it does to put that cover on!
Hope this helps!

PS: Be sure your Ignition and Master Switches are off, or you can reverse the process… That is frustration maxxed out.
