Jason, Getting the old transducer out is not that hard. Take a 1″ board, like a furring strip, and place it against the bottom edge of the transducer, and tap the end of the board, Hard, with a rubber mallet. If this doesnt pop it loose, put a metal bladed putty knife against the bottom edge and tap hard again. The epoxy will crack and the unit will pop out. If it will help you, I have the text of an article I wrote several years ago for Bass and Walleye Boat magazine on how to install a transducer. If you would like a copy of the text–just send an email to MDWHITTEN@comcast.net, and Ill send it to you. Hope this helps, Mike Whitten/Germantown,TN
